Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

Africana Dish ("we", "us") connects African food vendors worldwide with Ghana's organic agric market and with consumers abroad. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

  • Account details — name, email, phone, and password (hashed) for vendors, customers and staff.
  • Vendor verification (KYC) — business details, a shop photo, and a government ID/passport, used solely to verify vendors. ID documents are stored privately and never shown publicly.
  • Location — at signup we record your IP address and, with your permission, your device GPS, to place verified vendors on our map and for trust & safety.
  • Orders & payments — order contents, delivery details, and payment references. Card/mobile-money details are handled by our payment processor (Paystack); we do not store them.
  • Usage — device/browser information and cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences (language, currency).

How we use it

  • To operate the marketplace — process orders, payouts, deliveries and exports.
  • To verify vendors and prevent fraud.
  • To send you transactional updates by email, SMS and push (you can opt out of marketing).
  • To improve the service and meet legal/tax obligations.

Sharing

We share only what's necessary with payment processors (Paystack), delivery partners, and email/SMS providers to fulfil your orders. We don't sell your personal data.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your account data, and object to marketing, by contacting us. EU/EEA users have rights under the GDPR; Ghanaian users under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

Retention & security

We keep data only as long as needed for the service and legal requirements. Passwords are hashed, KYC documents are stored privately, and access is restricted to authorised staff.
